Yumika and Soichiro

Today, I would like to introduce my sister and brother whose name is Yumika and Soichiro.
Last Sunday, I had a phone call from my mother and I also talked with them. They talked about what they are doing nowadays, how was the match, about the tests, and so on.

The girl sitting on the right is Yumika, who is 15 years old, goes to a girls' school in Utsunomiya. She is now a manager of basketball club. That makes all my family surprised, because she really din't like to work, especially for others. She said that she is still doing manager and working well. She is very provoking girl, but at the same time, she can be so honest and cute nice girl. It is very rare or it's when I have something she want to have, though...

This is Soichiro. He is 12 years old, and he is a first grade student in Minamikawachi Daini junior high school. He loves tennis very much and he plays tennis almost everyday. He thinks school's tennis club is not enough for him, so he also takes part in the tennis club that he has been joining since he was third grade. Now, he became regular in the school's tennis club, and he said his life became much harder. His dream is to be a proffesional tennis player. If he can't become one, then he said he want to be a fisherman and want to fish tunas.

I'm going to go back home at summer vacation. I'm looking forward to see and chat with them very much!!

Weekend

In Scott's class, we are going to have the presentation about job. My partner is Rimi and we are going to present about circus performer. I have to research about it from now.
I also have to do the paper for human rights class. I read "Life to tell" two weeks ago, and I went to the library to borrow again, but someone else rending it. So, I have to look for a summary in the internet to remember the story. To complete the paper, I have to watch a movie too. I will watch "Hotel Rwanda". I went TSUTAYA and I was able to borrow one, but I wonder if I could finish watching it, and finish the paper.

Baby Hatch

Today, I would like to talk about "Baby Hatch" which has been come up as one of the problem recently.

Baby hatch is the system to save the babies who are abandoned or going to be terminated. Parents who can't bring up babies by some reason, can leave them in the case with anonymous.
If you want to know more about this system, you could see in here.

Next two letter is related to the topic which the baby hatch had established at Jikei hospital in Kumamoto.

Letter One:
This letter was written by Krishna Haksar, using her experience to make us convince.
She has been working with children and families for more than 20 years, and she saw many children who undergo terrible treatment by their parents and became adult who is developmentally disabled. Through her experience, she thinks that this problem won't recover by baby hatch. She said that even if there is a system like baby hatch, there still children who is abandoned or terminated will exist.

Letter Two:
This letter was written by the person in Kanagawa, and this person used the case in Japan.
Several years ago, the couple who were just junior high school student, had a baby and they abandoned their baby in cold weather. This person thinks that if there was a system like baby hatch, maybe they didn't abandon the baby and the life of the baby was saved.

Compare these two, I agreed with the first letter. I know what the second article mean, and I do think we could save much innocent lives by this system. However, if I think of the effect after we took this plan, the couples, especially in younger age, will lose their responsibility of making babies. If they had a baby, they could just throw away into the case and ignore what they did. They could still enjoy their school life, not thinking of how their baby's life will go on without parents. From this reason, I think this system will ended up just to encourage people to throw their children away, and the number of the children who don't have their parents will increase extremely that goverment can't support them.

3-3 Crane Union

Today, I would like to write about school festival in Ishibashi high school last year.

Usually, in my school, first grades research something and exhibit them with decoration, second grades do restaurant, and third grades make the big art. My class, 3-3 decided to make the mosaic picture that can take first prize, and beat the art that graduates made. It was still kept in the history room, and it always overwhelmed us. You could see it in here. There is still more amazing arts that graduates made. We knew that normal mosaic art can't beat.

We finally decided to make mosaic art with paper cranes. We need forty thousand paper crane, and our class had 39 members. That mean, we all had to fold at least thousand paper cranes and we only had 3 weeks left. We folded and folded the paper that is 1/16 of the normal origami every day, every time. We had to put the stick to each paper cranes. Then we notice that there are some of classmates even couldn't fold cranes! I think most of you can fold, but look at this to make sure how to hold it.

Since we had to decorate classroom like the art musium, not just mosaic art, we finished it barely.

This is part of our class decoration. It all drawn by salt.

We brought in the mosaic art about 10 minutes before the school festival started. Most of classmates are working in the classroom and haven't seen the complete united art, they are very excited to see this.

Do you see the picture? It is "The Last Supper" from Leonard Da Vinci. The movie "Da Vinci Code" was trend last summer. How do you think about it? Isn't it nice? We also made class T shirt.

My friend designed it. This is cute and I love this.
